Should this ever be allowed?

Mups

I sometimes can hardly believe mankind and their depravity.

We all know about the 'Bull running'  the Spanish seem to enjoy so much,  and the Bull fighting and killing of these animals after torturing them for pleasure.
However,  the Spanish seem to have  a real knack for inventing abominable cruelty  on  defenceless animals, who have done no wrong,  purely for the human's  fun and pleasure.

Most horses are frightened of fire,  and will run away if they possibly can.    So what kind of moron would think it fun to deliberately make a horse run INTO the flames instead?

I really do hope these people rot in hell,  which would be nice and hot for them, too.

There are a number of countries in which the people seem to enjoy torturing animals.
I see it as a distinct lack of humanity, but also some sort of 'superiority complex' to show to themselves that humans are superior and all animals are inferior beings.
I see such people as being inferior to civilsed people.  They might impress some of their own kind, but they certainly don't impress me.
The same applies to the one specific group of people who, in order to eat the meat of some animals, those animals must be tortured to death rather than humanely killed as with other people.
Fortunately, the pigs seem to escape such torture for some strange reason!

  Spain
I saw photo's of this (sport) in the press yesterday..  Cruel... beyond words..

  Our animal loving England..
Like Fox hunting and Badger baiting.. Hare coursing....
Making horses jump hurdles and fences.. whipping them when they get it wrong..
I read of the showjumper who smacked her horse around the face when it didn't do well..
It all goes on .. Legal or illegal.. Makes little difference..

Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

I feel much the same as you, Scrumps.   :upvote:
Their excuse is it is not very often a horse gets hurt,  but they obviously don't count the mental torture as hurt.

If man wants to be stupid enough to want to run through a blazing fire,  then let him,  he is doing it from choice,  but why make an animal do it too?
There is no sense whatsoever in this patheric 'game'  as far as I'm concerned.  It is blatant cruelty.

Best I don't put my true feelings here, not nice reading. But most if not all will know what they are. 😡

I agree.
The people we are thinking about demostrate that they are not superior human beings, but quite the opposite: evil sub-humans.
Perhaps that is one cause of some of the consequences we are beginning to worry about in this country.
We get what we deserve.

I agree Mups I had not heard of this before but unfortunately there are parts of Spain which stick to cruel traditions . I think that those who really care for their horses would not do this .in Spain one sees the two sides of horses the fabulous Andulusian  horses proud and spirited  that cost a kings ransom and are looked after like princes . But the other side of the coin is the poor abandoned horses and donkeys left to starve often injured . Some you can see have seen better days .
There are charities who take in these horses if they can get them away from their owners . Dogs are another thing the dogs homes are teeming with hundreds of dogs often very nice dogs that are just abandoned .all these shelters are run by caring people usually expats but some Spanish . Not all are cruel .
