I don't think they use the same boots these days. Not that I'd be any use to the army these days.

I did a weekend jungle survival thing with the army once .
We were togged out in army gear.
I could not get over how long the boot laces were and felt sure the enemy would have overrun us while we were doing our boots up.
The rucksack was hefty too.
