Becaue he's rough and you don't like him ?
Lots of soldiers are rough it doesn't mean that their courage is in question .

I agree.  Everything that Tommy R has said has been, in my opinion, to the long term benefit of this country.

Quote from: CHF on January 17, 2026, 07:41:25 PMTommy Robinson looks fit and always ready for action. I bet he'd plead
that he was a conscientious objector.

When you come to think about it Tommy Robinson is already fighting for his country.
A country we are slowly losing to others..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Tommy Robinson is not afraid to speak out about what is happening to this country.  He's received death threats  but it doesn't stop him telling it how it is !

Quote from: Scrumpy on Yesterday at 10:32:37 AMI think the young of today would not go to fight for this country with blindfolds on..
The many wars gone by saw young men in their thousands going off to battles ..
Proud to fight for their country.. Even lying about their ages  ..
Many were used as fodder.. Young boys/men.. of little importance to those giving the orders..
Few at the top saw the horror of the battle field...
So incredibly sad...

Young men of today are not wearing blindfolds and will question when told to go 'Over the top'..
Good for them... They are not cowards.. Just young who have a life to live..

I have re-posted this because I feel strongly about it..
What do others think about the young of today.. compared with those of yesterday.?
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

When they've had forced into their heads that this country is evil by far left teachers throughout their school lives would you expect them to be keen on getting killed or injured fighting for it?

Add to that...
UK youth unemployment is rising, with rates around 13.4-16% for 16-24 year olds in late 2025, up from previous years, reaching near-2020 levels, driven partly by economic factors and a significant increase in young people Not in Education, Employment, or Training (NEET) due to long-term sickness, though government schemes aim to tackle this, notes. Factors include skill gaps, lack of quality jobs, and challenges in transitioning from education, impacting long-term potential.

and maybe it isn't so surprising.

It must be very demoralising for young people trying to get jobs or trying  to get apprenticeships and being turned down or not even answered at times.

When I was young jobs were plentiful .
The boomers had it the best .

People were poor before and like was hard and they are poor again and life is not easy for young people .

This country could well descend into the Third-World.  The lack of interest of many young people is one factor.  Another is the lack of employment and organisations which seem not to desperately need employees, so can pick and choose.  The country, consequently, is now declining in many ways.

Perhaps the most important is our present government which really doesn't know what to do.

If we want to restore the country to something like it once was, great changes will be necessary.  Not the best solution, of course, would be to let things continue as they are.  Eventually, the handouts will decline and even stop.  The consequence then would be that if you want to live, you must make an effort: go out and create work for yourself.  Of course, many will resort to crime and, as our prisons are already full, so I wonder what sort of deterrents they would come up with.

I paint a bleak future for this country.  I sincerely hope that something comes along that will be able to improve on that.  Perhaps a thermo-nuclear war?  If so, then we would all have to start again, hopefully benefiting from improved experiences and intentions!

At one time the solution was to emigrate to another country like Australia or Canada but both these countries have been taken over .

Although Australia is still a wonderful country it's not quite as wonderful as it was and it is of course very difficult to get into now .

Still young people can still go and work there for a year which is a great experience for them .

Unfortunately with Brexit the door to working in Europe is closed for young people .

I mean young working people not trustafarians who have sufficient finds to keep them while they swan around the world .
