It occurs to me that I've started hearing this. Picking up prescriptions. Getting a blood test. It seems to be when in pretty trivial conversation with a female fairly low down in the medical profession. I'm wondering what if anything it means. Is this what is meant by second childhood?

It's probably just me Klondie,  but I am not really sure what your question is?   :hmm:

Nor me.

Klondy, maybe a blood test will help identify what's wrong with your powers of communication

Aaww, bless you for asking k.  Often used towards babies and occasionally to those less swift. 😋

In my working life, many moons ago, I was involved in training customer service staff.  Saying 'bless you' to customers was discouraged. Heavily.  As was calling people 'sweetheart' etc.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

Yes my impression too. I wondered what set it off was all. Do I look on my last legs or do they just see the age on the paperwork.

Perhaps they thought you sneezed.

Perhaps they thought you've got the plague.

Either way . .  bless you.

Actually I do sometimes use that phrase myself,  especially if I feel for somebody's rotten predicament, or maybe if they have done something really nice and thoughtful,  then I might say for example  - Bless you,  thankyou..

klondike

As is often the case it depends on context. I've no idea what brought it to mind as my last bless you was a while ago.

I agree, so do I.
