Saudi Arabia has told the US that it will not allow its airspace to be used for any military strike on Iran, back to the drawing board maybe  ?

The Us has other bases in the Middle East .
It has a base in Jordan which no doubt pays Jordan plenty for as do we .

Apparently the US maintains bases in Iraq and Kuwait which countries border Iran, should they need a base in the region. However they don't maintain shipping in the Caspian Sea which is in the Russian sphere of influence, that would be useful in any military action concerning Iran.

Don't be too sure - in 1956 when the Hungarians - above all the young generation - hoped the USA will help them they didn't get any help from the Americans and many of them lost their lives or had to flee.

It's hard to know but there are suggestions that there will be action although as I suggested earlier far too late to help thousands of Iranians who are now beyond both help and caring about anything.

With Trump the most important of those points is the first. He is impulsive. He will be hoping to pick up a some plaudits but I think he missed the boat on that. The chances are his military told him it would be too risky earlier. Americans like overwhelming odds and TBH who can blame them.
