A follow on to my earlier thread entitled somebody I would willingly strangle which, as is often the case, wandered so far from the post that kicked it off about a comment on the planning application for an HMO next door to me as to be unrecognisable.

Anyway this one is from my PoV a useful comment from the local Community Council whoever they may be although I expect I pay for it.....

Consultee Comment for planning application
2025/4355/FULL
Application Number 2025/4355/FULL
Location 68 Towcester Road Northampton NN4 8LQ
Proposal Change of use from dwellinghouse (use class C3) to 5 person House in multiple occupation
(use class C4)
Case Officer Ben Parvin

Organisation Far Cotton and Delapre Community Council
Name FAO of the Parish Clerk
Address Delapre Abbey London Road Northampton NN4 8AW

I am re-submitting this objection, as it doesn't appear on the portal. Although the HNA we
submitted as part of our response is available. the Community Council object to this
application. The application is contrary to principle 1 in the Houses in Multiple Occupation
SPD 2019. The application would lead to the loss of a family home and an over concentration
of HMOs in the area. This will have an adverse impact on local character and amenity. The
Community Council have used the public register to create a concentration map, this shows
the area is already above the 10% permitted concentration for HMOS. (Appendix 1) Far
Cotton and Delapre Community Council are developing a neighbourhood plan, as part of this
work, the council has worked with AECOM to produce a Housing Needs Assessment
(supplied) for the area. This details the need for a good housing locally; this includes the
need for good-sized family homes. The row of terraces encompassing 68 Towcester Road is
known as Park View and is identified in our Neighbourhood Plan local heritage list as a
character area to be retained in its current form. The Community Council note that there has
been significant local opposition to the development.

'Fraid not, Vlad.      I am skint after paying my vet's bill yesterday.
In fact I was going to ask you to lend me a tenner till my pension goes in.
Dex is a wealthy man though,  he will happily extend his slate for us.

The surgeon who did a sterling job on my knee, and the anaesthetist who understood my wish for sedation. I didn't remember a thing!

I hope that objection to the planning app carries some real weight klondike.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

Me too.
It seems this turned out to be a good general thread rather than just me moaning about HMOs which is all to the good.

The Cardio Dr who just yesterday discovered the reason I was feeling so ill. Landed back in hospital yesterday in an almost collapsed state, turns out the medication I was on for my heart was slowly poisoning me. After blood tests and an ECG and a shed load of questions he discovered the digoxen was slowly poisoning me. I threw the remaining stuff out, takes 8 to 10 daysvto leave the system
That man literally saved my life.

klondike

From that it sounds like the collapse or near collapse was the best thing that could have happened. Let's hope it all flushes out and leaves no ill effects.

Hope you feel better soon Raven, a bit of good fortune seeing that doctor! We put so much trust in the NHS, and its not always foolproof.

After OH had a 3xCABG (bypass) they gave him medication to bring down his BP. Standard practice.  I walked onto the cardio ward to see him upside down in some sort of contraption. His BP was through the floor, and he'd passed out thanks to the tablets. Soon sorted but scary at the time.
