Since May this year I have been subscribing to The Telegraph.  Today, however, I have received an offer that I can pay £25 for a year, which is a noticeable reduction compared to my present payments.
I have been trying for half an hour now to contact The Telegraph to ask whether I can stop my present payments and take up this offer.
Have been passing from pillar to post on the internet without finding any way to contact them in person.
Perhaps I should have simply cancelled my subscriptions and taken up the new offer.
Unfortunately, the offer I received has now disappeared!

Well, I suppose that I should just go ahead and cancel, should I meet the online offer again!  🙄😣🤣

Are you absolutely sure it is not a scammer trying to get your bank details?

My friend subscribes to the telegraph.  As such, he had a free subscription to give away to a friend.  I took him up on the offer.  Had problems getting it going.  I wanted to subscribe to the puzzles/crossword independently on another 12 month freebie offer.  Nothing worked, even by trying to utilise two separate email accounts.

In the end, I sacked my friend's offer of getting access to the paper and went for the puzzles instead.  This is due to change in January.  God only knows how it'll pan out.

Could be.  It didn't work, though.

Nor do I because I use remove paywall to read any article I want to see.

I don't bother. If what I decide to read is behind a paywall I move on to a different paper. I did try removepaywall but it relies on archives  and they often aren't there for new stuff. If it's older then odds are I've seen it elsewhere. Life is hard for the papers these days. Few buy them, paywalls surely cant draw much revenue and anybody that actually reads most papers must use an ad blocker to preserve their eyesight.

It was tough for dinosaurs too probably...

Yeah,  but looked what happened to them.
