For anyone who hasn't yet worked it out, it's nothing to do with speeding up trials, it's designed to stop a jury acquitting a person who pleads not guilty after being charged with posting comments on Facebook after an illegal immigrant rapes a schoolgirl.

Of course it is.  You'd imagine that Labour already has a number of lefty judges who would decide in favour of their favourite political party.
When they successfully manage to stop the use of juries for all but the most serious crimes, they can rely on their own left judges to make the 'right' decisions.
We'll be back in mediaeval days and, having seen films like Robin Hood, we're going to see some strong reactions, hopefully starting with the 'Sheriff of Westminster', who definitely needs his head removing.
