Since the assassination of JFK and still Wiki doesn't bother to mention the fact. I can still remember hearing the news as if it were yesterday and am always surprised to talk to people who were too young to remember it or even weren't born.

I remember, then two weeks later my father died, age 59.  Unexpected, as even though his health hadn't been great for some time, he was still working. 1963 wasn't my best year.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

Still remember it. I was based in Colchester, returning to the pub from the outside loo when I heard a woman say that he had died, at first I thought she was referring to a friend ...that memory has always stayed with me.

I wouldn't have remembered the date if I hadn't seen your post, but I can remember where I was was when I heard the news.

9/11, like 1963, is permanently etched in my mind. Obviously I heard about the death of Elvis, but don't remember it in the same way
