A June 1939 copy of a Superman comic, found by the sons of their late mother, has sold at auction for $9.12m! Can't understand it

How many June 1939 copies of a Superman comic remain in the world? People collect anything that they think may increase in value.

We now know that one of them fetched $9m. Works of art fetch far more and are of no more practical value. Even less maybe as post apocalypse there are far more pages in that comic that could be put to good use that the far too rough canvas of the Mona Lisa. Just thought - the frame could be handy though.

It's the people who think nothing of spending $9  dollars on a comic that make me wonder about their sanity!   If I had that sort of money to spend,  it sure wouldn't be on a flippin' superman comic.

They probably have everything else they can think of. There's probably a tiny percent of the world population with as much as all the rest combined.
