Munchetty , the BBC newscaster, is being formally investigated over alleged bullying...
I can't stand the woman.. I seldom watch the BBC news.. but never when she is on..
Is it just me..?
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

I never watch BBC news, and never will.  The entire organisation is now showing the world how corrupt it is.

I can't stand the woman, when I did have a licence and watched she always came across as supercilious - no matter who she was talking to.

I agree,  and that is the perfect description,  Alex.    :upvote:
Mind you,  I don't much care for the other one,   Charlie Stayt,  either.
I think they are both too self-opinionated.

I don't watch the BBC and I have come to the conclusion that I don't need one or another foreigner to read the news to me off an autocue.

BBC have a verity of jobs in news.

Some read the news.
Some are journalists and research (or as often as not make up) the news.
Others still such as Hew Edwards actually become the news. That talent isn't confined to the news department of course as scores of BBC personalities have become the news. Most for broadly similar reasons.

I'm trying to work out if there's a way of getting a refund for any of my licence which has contributed towards the news.  They clearly have broken the contract of providing accurate and unbiased information to me.

klondike

If you cancel your licence you can request a refund for any period it has left to run. If you forget to ask as I found out my daughter did they don't do it automatically. Gits.

Dextrous63

I don't want to cancel my licence.  I want a refund for the amount spent on them producing the news.  I'd also like a discount for the same amount going forward.

klondike

I'd like a rebate on my tax bill for the amount they spend on illegals but it ain't gonna happen.

Dextrous63

Ah, but the BBC do have a set of rules as part of their charter.

Specifically the opening statement and no. 1.

They are in breach of contract.

Not sure if your council has a similar contract to cite from ref illegal immigrants and expenditure.
