Quote from: Dextrous63 on September 21, 2025, 09:28:24 AMActually, it won't be the police who'll come knocking.  It'll be the British Border Force, since they're sitting around doing eff all nowadays.
Oh, how unfair!  They go out into the Channel every day, trying to pick up and save hundreds of poor people who have mistakenly set out in dinghies, presumably to go fishing.

My apologies.  I thought it was the RNLI who put their boots on the ground ... specifically illegal immigrants' boots onto solid UK ground.

The Border Farce are the ones who go out routinely, as far as I know, and the RNLI poke their noses in if the Border Farce can't cover for some reason.  Watch reports on the news showing Border Farce vessels proudly bringing home their 'profits'.  (I stand to be corrected, of course.)

I have often read of some people insisting that they now refuse to support the RNLI for that reason, but of course we all pay for Border Farce in our taxes.

Upon reflection, the spelling should surely be Boarder Farce. 😉

I wasn't sure how many migrants the RNLI brought so I asked an AI

Part of a lengthy answer...

For example, in 2024, the RNLI rescued 1,371 people from suspected Channel crossings, which accounted for 3.7% of the total 36,816 people who crossed.

So not many which to be honest surprised me

I've found I use AI more and more to save wading through the crap that Google comes up with these days. So long as you realise they can return total crap too they save a lot of time. If it's important it pays to cross check.

That looks ideal.  Scoop the buggers up, one dinghy after another, then simply sail down to South Georgia and deposit the lot there.
