Sorry to keep going back to this,  but I wanted to tell you something.

When I was drawing the curtains this morning,  the old wreck across the road was still there parked in the kerb,  but it had a  notice stuck on the windscreen.   No idea what it said.
Then when I had to go out later today,  I noticed it also had a big yellow wheel clamp on the front wheel too,  and it had DVLA  written on the clamp.

I'm assuming he's in trouble for leaving it on the road now.
I hope I don't get the blame though, as it was nothing to do with me.   Maybe the Cops drove by and saw it?    Dunno.

I guess it's one of two things.
1 someone shopped him.
2 police saw it.

Either way I'd keep quiet and say nothing to anyone at all.

Yes,  I think you're right.
I'd best say no more.

I just hope I don't get my tyres slashed when I knew nothing about it till this morning.

He could have put it back on his drive and asked his visitors to park on the road.  He could have got some scrap dealers to take it away. But he did neither.  Instead, he dumped it on the road which someone reported, or possibly a passing police car picked up automatically through ANPR.

So now he's likely to get fined and possibly have a bigger expense when the police arrange for it to get towed to be destroyed or the additional cost of being taken to a compound for storage prior to its destruction.

Stoopid boy!

My bet would be on him being shopped if it was an eyesore. Could have been ANPR I suppose - depends how busy the road is. I'm on a main road and see plenty of police cars and they usually have flashing lights so I doubt have ANPR operating.  I rarely if ever see any obviously patrolling side roads. Won't say never but I don't ever recall even seeing one in a side road unless it's parked up.

The obvious answer would have been to either get it scrapped or leave it off road.

My friend's husband has just said there has been one of those cars with the camera on top going round the streets.   He said he has seen a few others that have been clamped as well.
