They are saying we should all close  our windows after 7 pm for the next month or so now,  because it's Spider season.
As it is turning cooler, the spiders will be making their way indoors for shelter and warmth.

I actually had a ginormous one in my bedroom last night,  big as an Octopus it was.    :grin:
Alright,  slight exaggeration,  but it was a whopper,  one of those big black ones with thick legs.
I can't sleep knowing one is in the room,  so I had to go get my spider catcher and chuck it outside.

So beware!

Best to make it harder I suppose but they'll get in through some small opening if they choose no matter what.

I am not bothered by spiders.. I catch them and put them outside.. Would never hurt them..
I think they will always find a way to get in a house if they really wanted to..

You make me smile Mups... You are proper woosie...  :grin:
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

We often have some of those small, spider-like insects, perhaps a type of fly?
I thought about putting one outside, but decided to check first.  It seems that such insects are likely to die outside: apparently, they are more suited to indoor living.  They really don't bother me and do no harm, so I left it alone.  The only worry is that one of the cats might eat it.

I have a terrible fear of spiders. My heart pounds and I shake, even though I know it's irrational.  I understand how you feel Mups  :upvote:

There was an old fellow who swallowed a fly
I don't know why he swallowed a fly - perhaps he'll die!

There was an old fellow who swallowed a spider,
That wriggled and tiggled that hairy insider;
He swallowed the spider to catch the fly;
I don't know why he swallowed a fly - Perhaps he'll die!

There was an old fellow who swallowed a bird;
How absurd to swallow a bird.
He swallowed the bird to catch the spider,
He swallowed the spider to catch the fly;
I don't know why he swallowed a fly - Perhaps he'll die!

There was an old fellow who swallowed a cat;
Fancy that to swallow a cat!
He swallowed the cat to catch the bird,
He swallowed the bird to catch the spider,
He swallowed the spider to catch the fly;
I don't know why he swallowed a fly - Perhaps he'll die!

There was an old fellow that swallowed a dog;
What a hog, to swallow a dog;
He swallowed the dog to catch the cat,
He swallowed the cat to catch the bird,
He swallowed the bird to catch the spider,
He swallowed the spider to catch the fly;
I don't know why he swallowed a fly - Perhaps he'll die!

There was an old fellow who swallowed a cow,
I don't know how he swallowed a cow;
He swallowed the cow to catch the dog,
He swallowed the dog to catch the cat,
He swallowed the cat to catch the bird,
He swallowed the bird to catch the spider,
He swallowed the spider to catch the fly;
I don't know why he swallowed a fly - Perhaps he'll die!

There was an old fellow who swallowed a horse...
He's dead, of course!

Now that's just going to have Mups worried again..

Hate them. Read an article by a psychiatrist who claimed that the fear of spiders is so irrational that they are an alien species brought to earth by an asteroid strike
Thank you for the days, the days you gave me

Mups, I'd never heard of a Spider Catcher, I almost have a meltdown if one arrives in the House. Dunc thinks my reaction is hysterical and loves to make a big deal out of it (swine) but he removes it for me.......Shudder.
I looked on Ebay and ordered one, hopefully it will arrive soon.

Well I closed Windows and I'm only using a tablet and phone for now. Did the article say when I can go back to the laptop?

Raven,  this is similar to mine,  but mine is a few years older now.
It's brilliant and has got an extension tube I can stick on the end if a spider, bee, wasp etc,  is higher up the wall.

Raven

This is what I ordered..

Mups

Ooer,  never seen one like that before, Raven.

Does it work?  Have you tried it yet?

I also use mine at night when all the Moth's come in every time I let the dogs out for a wee.
It's really good, and doesn't hurt their delicate wings,  as its just a little vacuum tube.
