Car... Starting price 375 for alternator  (Garage)
Car... New rear wiper 
Car.. new rear lights.. 
Halfords have been brilliant with their advise... My granddaughter Hattie took the car there on my advise.
The guy was really helpful.. Hattie left with good advise and an exchange of mobile numbers ..!!!!

I have a Peugeot 206LX.. She is 23 years old..
It is cheaper for me to get her fixed than to get another car..
I have had her from new.. She is looked after by the same garage from which I bought her ..

Sounds a bit pricy for an alternator although I could be out of touch with current pricing. Have you checked around? It's not as if it can be botched as it's just a bolt on item.

You are correct about VFM though - no point replacing it until there is a major bill. You wouldn't get much of a replacement car for £375

I have got to find the money for the MOT this month, and the Service, and about 5 weeks after that it will be Car Insurance,  followed by House Insurance renewal.

Vet fees are ongoing as one of mine has to have life-long medication,   PLUS  I have just forked out £220 quid to the Dentist.   

And of course,  it will be the festive season before we can blink. 
It's crippling.

Everywhere Scrumpy 🙄. Four slices of ham from the butcher's was a fiver yesterday. Proper thick roast ham, but still!  I've started noticing recently how some prices have really shot up.  Coffee is one.

I took some pain killers last night, and managed to sleep quite well.   
I have just managed some bran flakes for brekkie,  but have to eat on the other side so as not to get food crumbs in the open wound, he said.

I saw the story after I posted. Sorry it was a bit traumatic but at least the toothache is gone and won't come back from that one. Possible lesson - don't crunch boiled sweets?

Nah,  hardly ever eat sweets,  but thanks anyway.

Yesterday I had to collect a bottle of meds for my dog.  

A tiny 50ml bottle  . . . . . .  £101.72p.
