Mups, Have you tried using the same three words to start each time that I posted about a while ago?  Three different words, with the most used letters, all different? It's very rare to fail then, usually end on four.  I know klondike uses this method too, he told me about it!  Sorry, I don't know how to finish on a two each time, JBR hasn't shared that method.

You're very kind Granny,   and I remember Klondike saying about that some time ago,  but didn't find it made much difference,   I probably did it wrong I think.

I will have to have a rethink. 

BTW,  do you prefer to be called 'Granny'  or 'Mac'?

I prefer Mac I suppose ☺️.

The trick is not to try and guess the letters straight away.  My second and third lines below don't have any of the first as I've stuck to my three words. It's about elimination of possibles.  Five below isn't great, four is the norm for me and k.

I have a lot of 5s - I'm lazy and often don't puzzle until I've used my 4th word too. My current streak with no days missed or failures is this - that's because I don't try for low scores just to not fail.

You need to chose words that contain the most commonly used letters - google will tell you what they are. Avoid duplicating letters as a duplicated letter reveals less than an unused one. My four words contain only one duplicated letter. I must get around to revising them sometime but I'm a bit too lazy as it takes a while to come up with a set.

Well I made 5 words before I started this time,  but if you choose words with all the vowels,  inevitably they are going to use the same letters.  

One day I shall win this at the first guess,  then you will be astounded,  amazed, and  so envious of my genius.  

P.S.  I haven't a clue what 'Hard mode'  means,  never heard of it.

Mups, I use three vowels first word, two second word, none in third word, just a 'y'. Letters like s,r,d,n,t,h,p.
