So, today I replaced my daughter's car's rear brake pads (offside, as if done her near side a week or so ago and let them bed in).  Much quicker, through experience, although I did notice the cylinder had a bit of a weep.  After replacing the pads, all seemed fine.  Alas, my daughter told me (in no uncertain terms) that her brakes were f@@ked.

Appears that I'd managed to disturb an already failing cylinder seal and thus exacerbated the issue.

Guess what I've just paid for via PayPal and also what I'll be doing Friday sometime 😳🤬🤬🤬

Hopefully I won't have to extend my skills into surgery!!!!

On a kinda related theme, many years ago I was supposed to take a DDR flight to communist east Germany.  It was delayed overnight due to a technical issue, but we (my mother and I) were heartened by the fact that the plane had the engineers who'd been flown over to fix it were both comfortably asleep on a few seats near the front.
