The Live Aid Concert at Wembley was 40 years ago..!!!!

The BBC are showing the concert on TV..
I will give it a go.. Such fantastic performers..
My daughter was a young teenager.. She , and her school friends, were so excited to watch it on tv..
Little known Queen were superb.. Madonna wasn't even a super star over here..
Ticket price.. 5 pounds + 10 pounds.. the 10 pounds went to charity..

Do you remember watching it.. !!
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

I don't think I watched Live Aid, can't really remember but I wasn't a fan of Queen

I did watch and enjoyed it. If I remember correctly it all kicked off with Status Quo, terrific band.

Phil Collins performed at Live Aid in Wembley..
He then was flown by helicopter piloted by Noel Edmonds to Heathrow .. He flew Concord to NY..
Then helicopter to Philadelphia  where he performed at the Live Aid concert USA...

Time seems to have travelled backwards.. We could do London to New York back then in 4 hours...
Has anyone here been fortunate to experience travel on Concord.?
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

sadly, no. I had always promised my self a trip in her, but the Paris crash but a stop to that. I have gone over one on the ground, and was fascinated to hear the cabin carpet had to be woven so that it could stretch, and she lengthened by 12 inches of more as her skin heated up from air friction, even at her altitude.

I went on the one in Barbados .( on the ground )
It was stranded there after they were all grounded .
So it's now a tourist attraction .
It's very small inside .
Fascinating to know it got longer !
They had no films as the journey was so short and the well heeled passengers  were too busy quaffing champagne .
Must have been fun.

I did watch the live Aid concert it was great .
The world seemed a better place then

I have only flown once in my life,  and doubt I will ever do it again.

However,  around 1982-ish,  my then boyfriend took me to Duxford to see Concorde on  show.
I remember we were allowed to go on board  and walk around to see everything.
So I can truly say - Yes, I have been on Concorde.
