I saw that somewhere earlier in a distance shot and it is enormous. Too much attention to history there imo. They need to move on.

There was another one with a boat full of illegal look alike dummies in it.

I saw that.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

Do you mean in NI as a whole ?  Or is there a history to this massive bonfire that I haven't read about ? Just interested.....

I had never heard about it before but it appears to be part of the Orange day customs .

They probably wanted to burn Catholics on their bonfires before .

Yep. They light it to mark the start of the marching season.
I only know that from the bit I read about the current monster online.

Scrumpy

Northern Ireland..!!  Rather an excitable race... They (some) seem to thrive on (aggression) and protests.. Depending on what is trending at the time.... ..
They certainly know how to sing though..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

So can the Welsh and they aren't in a perpetual blood feud dating back 400 years or so.

The male half of a married couple  we lived next door to was a catholic from NI. We were very friendly and had regular boozy Friday night sessions in alternate houses. I once asked him how the catholics and protestants could identify each other. He said "Ah ye can smell 'em"
