I noticed something odd with sequence scoring today. Like you it took me five goes to get the first word which usually means a poor score but my 4th word with the oddball letters was one of the later solutions and I ended up with 60 which only usually comes with a good start. I find if I try to chase a low score with early guesses I usually end up missing resulting in worse score or have to struggle to not actually fail. I only go early in extreme after very careful thought otherwise I can only get a win without my 4th word of oddball characters and there are always some in there.

If you need 4 start words in extreme then there can be no more misses. A lot of words seem to have a choice of two quite rare letters and if neither are used elsewhere its a toss up. Sometimes more than one. That's not counting in bad guesses and sometimes all there is at the start is a guess between several options. Some days you can just run through a game no sweat and then there are the other days.

The worst days for me are when near the end with a clutter of letters you don't spot one and pick a wrong word. You can sometimes recover if you haven't used your fourth word but that usually is a struggle

The problems are what make it interesting but I feel cheated when the only possible way to beat it is guessing. Well the only way without cheating anyway.
