I've no idea how this topic has gone from the extremism shown at Glastonbury, to Kenny bloody Everitt who was just not funny, he made a fortune from kicking and crossing his legs.  Rod on the other hand what a trooper he is !

It must be an age thing......

It, like all threads here once the main subject is pretty much worked out wandered off topic. It started heading off with a comment about Rod Stewart and I was to blame for linking him with Kenny Everett. Perhaps those complaining would prefer some bossy moderators keeping all threads  entirely on topic.

It didn't go off topic because of your post .

On the mothership the topic was introduced and derailed in exactly the  way but worse with really unpleasant trolling.

I am actually a fan of Rod Stewart but I don't think its fair  to introduce him into someone else's topic especially when the topic is a serious one

Why in heavens name just start a topic about Rod Stewart ?
Put it in Music / chat / couch potatoes whatever .

klondike

I think if had stayed on topic it would have been a lot shorter. We only have around 20 posters and apart from a post declaring how shocking such a thing is there isn't much that I can see to discuss. Nobody is surely going to defend this sort of thing?

Nothing wrong with going off topic.. Just like having a regular conversation..
As Klondike said above.. 'Once the main subject is worked out.. wandered off topic'
We are only a small group... and sometimes 'throbbing bunions' gets mentioned when the
subject started off 'Who likes Spam'?

I, for one, would NOT prefer some bossy moderators keeping threads entirely on topic..

Here here about moderation, Scrumps.   :upvote: I'd rather stay as we are.
We had constant interference where I was long ago,  and it cost him a lot of members.

In all fairness though,  I know it can be a bit annoying if a thread you are serious about, or perhaps  something a bit personal even,  gets made a laughing stock, that can be a bit hurtful.
