I'm old..

On the radio today 'Ten to the top' .. It's a music quiz program ..a bloke was asked the name of the song some guys were singing..

He started  playing the record..
'You never close your eyes anymore when I kiss your lips.. And there's no tenderness like before in your fingertips'
He then was asked to name the song title..
He didn't know.. and when told said 'never heard of it'..

The song was 'You've Lost that Lovin' Feeling' The Righteous Brothers..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Well I must be old too, Scrumpy,  because I would have known that song too.
There were a lot of good songs years ago.

Elvis has also cut it. I think that the Righteous Brothers version is better. Listened to both versions many, many time

But there are people out there who have NEVER heard of it.. !!!!
This wasn't a kid on the radio he was a guy in his sixties..

I think Elvis is a voice people will still know for many years to come..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

The Righteous Brothers!  That song is so recognisable from the start.  🎶
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

It certainly is....
The first few lines of the song was played... and sang by The Righteous Brothers..
He wasn't just a guy picked at random... He was a contestant on the music quiz..

You see.. it's one of my favourite songs and I couldn't believe there was anyone out there who had never heard of it.. Other than the young..

It made me sad...
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Lovely song and easily recognisable for good music lovers, the contestant was obviously a dick

Maybe we should flood the internet with great songs like this .
Or children could study them in music lessons .
It might save their addled brains .

Ooh,  I used to like Andy Williams.

'Can't get used to losing you',  and 'Where do I begin'  etc.
You never got those oldies appearing on stage like they'd been boozing (or worse), all night long.

I've said it many times,  but I still adore Neil Diamond too.  A gentle sort of man, who wrote songs with meaningful words that often told a story.

Elton John wrote a lot of good songs too.  I remember him singing Candle in the Wind at Diana's funeral.

Not like a lot of the yelling and shouting big gobbed lot nowadays,  or the women flashing their drawers and  their boobs barely covered!  Like that one on at Glastonbury who flashed her bum to show the world she had TWO pairs of G.strings on.  So what?    Who cares?

Nor me, I was flicking through the channels yesterday a few times and each time this lass was on stage. I didn't like her music nor the way she acted, too sugary sweet for me, I remember thinking Shut up you mad mare are you drunk.  :nooo:
