I believe that the universe expanding has been observed and possibly measured.  Which suggests there was a starting point.🤷🏻♂️

Cosmologists would mostly dispute all of JBRs post but the James Webb space telescope is returning plenty of evidence that suggests some of what has been believed and developed over the last century has some flaws and possibly big flaws
.
The current cosmological theory is called the Lambda Cold Dark Matter theory which is based on the expansion of space time since a start point christened by a detractor of the idea many moons back the Big Bang and influenced by Dark Matter and Dark Energy which together make up far more of the universe  than stuff you can actually see. There is a load of mathematics involved obviously.

Both are mathematical inventions devised when observation didn't match theory and despite half a century of searching for dark matter and somewhat less for dark energy which was coined when the observations showed that the expansion is increasing they can't explain either in a way that stacks up so as to convince them all.

In short it seems that the scientist don't really know what the hell it all is about but refuse to admit it

I reckon they need to consult J K Rowling because she might be able to explain it all better.

'Not terrorist related'

Do you think countries say this because they do not want to admit, or face up to the fact that they are being overrun by ( invaders ) from elsewhere..?
It seems to be a worldwide problem... Even Australia , a country that only accepted certain people ,at one time, into their country are having problems..

We are called 'racist' if we turn people away or say we do not want them here..
Yet , when proven that we were right.. we are still called 'racist'..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

It appears that a particular definition has been applied to terrorism in all four corners of the globe at the same time which quite intentionally excludes many attacks on members of the public. Even when there are a number of common factors to attacks that may appear random, the authorities will only admit that the outrage was terrorist related if they are aware of (and prepared to publish) links to an organisation that they have themselves defined as "terrorist". So we may draw our own conclusions.

Sounds correct to me. Do they honestly think they are fooling anybody?

That's disappointing.  I thought that Australia was an example to the world of how to prevent illegal immigration by turning around boats from other countries.  Last I heard was that it was highly successful.
The frightening thing is that they keep coming to this country in dinghies simply because we stupidly go out and collect as many as we can.
Why on earth don't we just turn them around?
Perhaps Hitler should have adopted the same tactic, but of course in those days we had a proper government!

Scared of the French reaction  !!!

So what are 'our friends' the French going to do?  What have they ever done for us that has been of any benefit to us?  Why anyone should be scared of the French.

And the next time the Germans, or whoever (Spanish, even Belgians, etc?) try it on, we must not put our own men's lives in danger to fight their battles for them!

We no longer have the military to fight for anybody. Or even for ourselves come to that.

Starmer is worried about the French reaction, remember them burning live British sheep  ?  British, Dutch and German drivers were scared of driving into France.  The French are crazy and it's not just the farmers

That is very true, but why?

Well, I can see two reasons:
- many of our young people aren't interested (and often that applies also to working!);
- our trendy leaders are determined to persuade non-white British to apply to join and, worse, are probably reducing the requirements for acceptance.

With the possible forthcoming of Russian expansionism, I think our glorious leaders are now beginning to worry!

The French are our traditional enemy (apart from twice in the last century of course) and rely on the weakness of our leaders.  As for burning live sheep (I didn't know about that), that demonstrates their lack of civilisation.

We would be well advised to have nothing to do with them and, of course, to leave the ECHR which does nothing of benefit to us and, in fact, controls our country in many ways.  Bliar, of course.

Three reasons why that I can think of.

Funding. Successive goverments have been living on the "Peace Dividend" following the collapse of the Soviet Union. Beginning to look a bit of a false economy for the last three years but ignored by us and most of Western Europe. Not so the Poles who know all about Russia and their military spending in terms of percentage of GDP now exceeds the US.

Diversity targets. It seems they are having problems attracting the right sort to fill even the lower needs that reduced budgets allow.

Outsourcing of recruitment to Capita or Crapita as most probably call it. They are far better at delivering invoices than candidates.
