Most people set up camp ect beside water, the ocean or a Loch, they could easily dip the hot stuff in the water, using the tongs then dispose of it in a bin before leaving. It sheer laziness and disrespect for the place and knowing full well that someone else will clear up their mess. It's happening all over, not just here, makes my blood boil.  :yell:

This sort of thing is probably not because of people intentionally causing damage, but more likely due to the campers simply being too stupid to think of the potential consequences.
From what I see these days, there seems to be rather a lot of stupid people these days.  Society has changed since ah wer a lad.
Here you go, this is it copied and pasted for you.

Highland beauty spot Glen Affric targeted by reckless campers who hacked down trees, left the site looking like 'disaster area' and set a campfire despite 'extreme' wildfire warning, says shocked Forestry and Land Scotland officers.

Glen Affric avoided a devastating wildfire by "pure luck" after grotesquely irresponsible campers hacked down trees and left their makeshift campsite like a "disaster area".

Loads of camping equipment, 50 empty glass bottles, and "a whole lot of litter" were left behind by the grossly irresponsible group - who also set an open camp fire going despite an 'extreme' wildfire risk and widespread warnings to visitors not to do so.

They need finding and keel hauling.

Our throw away society means that people just leave stuff .

They clearly have money to burn as well .

Thanks Raven.
I had no idea.  This explains a lot more than I was aware of, including chopping down trees and other inane damage.  I can see why you are so angry, and if I were closer I'm sure I'd feel exactly the same.
They should have been taken to the cleaners for the damage they have caused.

Raven,  the fires were on our news again tonight.

They were also interviewing a man from a place called 'Crowbank Kennels & Cattery'  -  don't know if you know the place?
Anyway,  understandably,  he is very worried  about the boarding dogs and cats safety as the fire is approaching.
I should imagine the owners who have boarded their animals there must be frantic too,  I know I would be.

There are always tents and camping gear left after festivals too.   As you say, money to burn!
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

In this day and age, it'd be simple enough to mark a tent with several at codes which would enable the purchaser to be identified, and made responsible for it.

I can't understand why he & a couple of the owners were stopped from going to evacuate the animals. as the fire had not yet reached that area.

Typical authoritarianism.

When my son was a teenager he went to a festival with our plastic cool box which never returned. I discovered years later that it had been far handier and cleaner than the toilets provided  :ugh:

Good idea, and I'm sure it could have been cleaned for future use, for food of course.

It didn't say anything about that on the news, Diasi?
They would have had to arrest me before I'd let my animals burn!  That is totally inhumane.

I saw it on the News last night Mups, couldn't understand why the lady wasn't able to get her wee doggies.

That is unbelievable.    I am sure you wouldn't have let yours burn, no more than I would mine.
