The odd thing is this has always been a known thing. I recall tales of vicars and  choir boys from my youth and very much doubt that I'm alone in that. Possibly regarded as more prevalent in priests. Oddly rabbis were never similarly tarnished that I recall despite there always being some degree of anti semitism around.

The moron forgot the job description.

Stick a white collar (backwards) around someone's neck and they think they are above the law..
They also think they can 'Forgive' another who has sinned..

There are many out there preaching the horrors of evil deeds who are doing evil deeds..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

I'm with Michael on this.

The only thing Welby is forgiving Smythe for is for being the final nail in the coffin which led to his resignation.

Nothing more to add.  Things that have been done in so called religious organisations are one of the reasons (I think) why so many people have moved away from churches, chapels etc.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

I agree with GrannyMac...
There are so many stories being revealed now.. Stories that have been covered up by those at the top..
My Italian friend was at school in Rome.. The children feared the nuns and the priests..
She no longer goes to church...
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..
