Since that is what they have done over and over again since taking office, it is labour policy to throw our money around.

They have, and they have done absolutely nothing of any benefit to the country and the British people.
When the country is bankrupt, assuming it isn't already, and they continue to demand money from us for nothing, something big is bound to happen.  There has been civil war in the past and, bearing in mind that the police are weak and our armed forces weaker than ever, such a repeat of that would be very interesting.
