Thanks Klondie,   there is perhaps no need to worry about changing my meter after all then,  do you reckon?

Surely they would write to me first anyway?   They surely wouldn't just cut people off with no warning?

If they cut you off or want to change your meter they'll let you know all about it first for sure. No need to  worry

Thanks again.   I shall stop worrying about it now.

I have just read today,  a whole list of bad things  - in one person's opinion anyway  -  that smart meters can do.   She says:

1. They are fire hazards

2. Emit harmful electromagnetic fields

3. Collect personal data of private activities at home,  in violation of the Human Rights Act (Article 8).

4. Cannot withstand grid surges.

5. Cause damage to homes and structures.

6. Put people out of jobs.

7. Are antoher step towards civilisation being completely digitalised.

8. Can be controlled remotely, meaning your electricity can be cut at a moment's notice by companies.

9. Disturb Pacemakers - the electromagtnetic waves generated by smart meters can keep your ICDD or pacemaker from functioning correctly.

*  *  *

I don't know if these things are true or not,  although I have heard about they can be controlled by the companies, and also about the electromagnetic fields generated,   but that must be worrying for those with pacemakers, surely.

I wonder how all the millions of old type meters are disposed of, too?   :hmm:

All entirely true and the use of countermeasures is troubling the government so much that they will soon be taking tinfoil off supermarket shelves. Be sure to make your hat soon along with plenty of spares. Keep them well hidden.

I've already started storing foil.
I will make a few extra for you as well.

Ah thanks for that. I was afraid I may have to get rid of some of the toilet rolls that are filling almost the whole of upstairs and the loft.
