Passed the Causeymire Wind Farm earlier this morning. Not a blade was turning. Got out of the car and everywhere was silent, not even a bird calling, it was very eerie in the silence and the mist.
This storm is going to be a doozie I think, even the ocean is like a mill pond, not good, not good at all..
Just heard on the radio we now have a RED wind warning, that's 90-100mph winds..........Shiiiiit.

Alex

We're due for high winds here in the north west too.

I believe  Storm Eowyn is forecast for just about everywhere.  Not looking forward to it at all. :worried:

The whole of the UK is in for a hammering.  :worried:

Himself is out lashing stuff down and getting animals rounded up for going inside later and getting feeds ready to be taken inside for them too.
I hate strong winds anyway but this is a worrying one.

Ashy

Forecasts for high winds from Friday morning until Saturday early hours.

That eerie silence before the storm is very true indeed...
Animals and birds are aware of trouble heading their way..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

It doesn't look too bad for North Lincolnshire with the highest wind of 47 mph & a sunny day.

Good Grieff, just had an email from Tesco to say all their stores are closing tomorrow because of the red warnings.  [1080]

Good grief, Raven.   I don't think I've ever seen that happen before.

I will be thinking of you tomorrow.   Let us know how it goes if/when you can,  and good luck.

Yep.  I hope that each and every one of us get through this unscathed.  IIRC Raven, didn't your Perth house's fence get a mauling fairly recently?

Yes just over a year ago, it was totally destroyed. Cost me just under a grand to replace it. I got the guy to leave spaces between the slats this time so the wind would blow through. The last one was solid panels.

Touch wood, er, quite literally.
