Laboratory grown meat

They were talking about this again on telly a night or two ago, and showing how they use animal cells to grow it.

Maybe I am a hypocrite, because although I don't like the idea of killing animals for our consumption - especially with the nightmare reports I have seen of some slaughter houses -  but when I see some sausages or pork chops etc,  they don't look like an animal, so I eat it.
If I saw the whole carcass with its head on, and face,  it would upset me and I couldn't cut into it for all the tea in China.
I also can never eat any of the internal organs, not for love nor money.  No liver, kidney,  anything like that.

Anyway,  how do you feel about this Lab meat they are experimenting with?
Do you think you would buy it?

Depends if it makes good bacon sarnies or not....

I fear the answer is probably not.

One thing that gives the game away with vegetarians is veggie sausages and burgers. If they don't want meat why do they want something that is a poor imitation of meat?

Good point. :upvote:

If this man-made stuff did eventually catch-on in a big way because of those who don't like slaughtering animals,  then these very people could ultimately be the cause of millions of farm animals being mass slaughtered as they will no longer be needed or viable.

There would probably just be a few kept in unnatural conditions in laboratories, purely to experiment on.

I believe they are also working on lab-grown milk as well!

One day in the distant future,  we could eventually be born without our reproductive organs, as they will become disfunctional.  We will put our order in with Ocado and order the chosen baby, ready made in their lab.
