Winning the Lottery

I know it has probably been said many times, but what do you think you would do if you really did win the Lottery and it was millions?

I don't think I'd know where to start with a vast amount of money all of a sudden,  but it could be fun working it out.     I know I would give some to my favourite animal charities though,  but not sure what after that.

What do you think would be the first thing you would buy?

I'd like to think that if it was a substantial amount, I'd bail out some friends from debt, perhaps set up some trust funds first their children to get a decent education, and gift my friends on these forums something too.

A bungalow!  Somewhere with a decent sized garden and an outbuilding so my OH could get a motorbike to tinker with.  Obv we could afford a gardener 😊  Then trust funds for the grandkids, some monetary gifts for family and friends, and some charitable giving.  I wouldn't go public.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

I like that idea Granny.

Me too.  Am weary of stairs.

Move...

Share with my family..
Local animal charities.. None of the big names..
Buy a decent motor.. and one for Alex.. Nothing too flash.. someone would nick it..

I wouldn't allow my name to be given to the press..
And my heating would stay on all day..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Bungalow is great with it all on one level. When my marriage ended and I left the big house I moved to an old farm workers cottage, it's a great wee house but I missed all the storage that my old house had. I would really struggle with stairs now. Dunc's place is also on the one level so that's good too.
Apart from giving the family a share I would go private to get a couple of operations I need, I feel I've been waiting for ever.
Then it would be another 4x4 for me as I miss my Yeti.
As to anything else, I don't know.

I'd heat the whole house. Might even go nutty and have it at 21°C

Emigrate, before it's too late!  😉

I'd buy my wife a house out of earshot, and live in it myself.

I'd buy Starmer some tickets, to hell and not back.

I don't think I would ever leave England,  but I would like to live near the sea somewhere.  I love the sea.

I have lived in a bungalow for the last 22 years.
I would never want a house now.   Doubt my knees would take to it kindly anyway.

We had a lovely detached bungalow, but due to OH's health, our income was severely impacted, so we bought this house twenty years ago to be mortgage free.  It would take a stairlift, there's no room for a downstairs loo unfortunately.

A new car, not a leccy one and a car for Scrumpy, depending on who wins first
New house, probably a bungalow
then my animal hospital/rescue centre I've already chosen the plot.
Travel a bit but first class
Goes without saying family and friends would be sorted first  :upvote:
