What about this for unbelievable stupidity then -

Town Hall bods in a South London council have banned their staff from asking anhyone for their 'Christian' name.    They feel some people might be offended by the term 'Christian.'

Staff have now got to ask for someone's 'Forename', or 'First name'.

A 13 page language booklet has been devised to advise staff.

They must also not call young people 'Youngsters,' not over 65's 'Pensioners as these terms are considered ageist.

What kind of 'England' are we creating for the future?

I live very near to a church..
Over the years I have noticed that the attendance for all services has fallen dramatically..
I don't think this has anything to do with other religions or government funds..
People have made their own choice of whether to attend church.. and attending church doesn't seem to come very high on their 'to do' list..
It has been like this for many years..
