Cancer vaccines

Did anyone see on the news tonight, that Scientists are working on developing  another new vaccine?
This time it is a vaccine against Cancer. 

If this becomes available,  do you think you would go for it?

Isn't cancer a range of different diseases with different causes. There has been an HPV virus around for a while. That's an STD that can cause cervical cancer.

Hard to answer that one.. Not if you are suffering with cancer though..

I don't understand how they can prepare a vaccine even,  as there are so many different types of cancer.   
And I wonder how many times a year they will urge you to have this vaccine.
Time will tell.

If it really works and causes no serious side effects it is a wonderful breakthrough..

This says they are developing vaccines that will prompt your immune system to destroy cancer cells

It doesn't seem to be a preventive vaccine and nor is it a single vaccine from what I can see

I see what you mean better now. Thanks.
 It seems the vaccines will be used to  treat cancer,  not prevent it.

I think that there are so many different cancers a preventive vaccine would be difficult.
