Scrumpy

Every year there is much talk about the John Lewis  Christmas ad..

On GMB the other day it even came up in their news.. and they were excited to be showing it ..
They said it was sad and it couldn't fail to bring a tear to those who saw it..

No it did not.. I found it to be a little bit dull and long winded..  Verging on boring..
I don't know what all the fuss was about..

Has anyone else seen it.. ?
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Afraid not Scrumpo.  Text to either fast forward ads as we record things and rarely watch anything live, or zone out (or do some short tasks) when they're on.

Got this from YouTube search

Alex

I thought it was a bit boring too, but it won't go down well as they're all white people :lipsrsealed:

You just wait til you get prostate problems. You'll be wishing those ad breaks were longer.

I can't record stuff with no TV licence and CBA with catchup - I just download stuff I hear about which is always ad free and can be paused at will.

Can't recall, but do any of these ads end up on YouTube?

Well, I'm afraid watching that advert did nothing for me.
I've never been particularly interested in women's clothes (other than getting into them of course).

Having said that, Marge and I have visited John Lewis's quite a lot in the past.  A bit more expensive than some places, but good quality.  Not women's clothes, as I wouldn't know about that, but other things including a new mobile phone (reduced on offer) for Marge, and a coffee machine (also reduced in the sales).
Yes, the quality is there, as is after-sales support.

Have a good look.  If you see things you really like, wait for the sales!

Seems to be perfectly acceptable these days. self determination and all that. I'm sure nobody here will hold it against you.

Alex

No, that made me chuckle  !

I knew that someone would take it that way!  Actually, I'm getting a bit too old for that sort of thing now.

We all get too old to continue as we used to eventually....

You are right scrumps it was crap . Only superseded by the Boots advert which must have been great for Superdrug !
