Hot flushes for men

What does everyone think about this?

It was in today's paper that one in ten NHS hospitals now have official 'male menopause policies' to support male staff in their middle age.

Some men apparently complain that they suffer similar to women as their testosterone levels drop.
They say men should not be embarrassed to speak out.

Managers could offer flexible working, air con,  or more comfortable uniforms for hot flushes.

Are they having a laugh,  or this a good  thing?  :hmm:

Sounds like BS to me. There is no hormonal change in men. Just a realistion that time is moving on. My advice would be-  Suck it up and live with it.

"suffer similar to women" needs replacing with "suffer women".

So you don't believe men's hormones change with age then, Klondike?  Or is it just an excuse for being grumpy with their wife?

What about this I googled then . . .

Do men have hormonal mood changes?

Testosterone also declines as men age, and as their levels drop, they experience increases in moodiness and irritability, says Diamond, who in 1977 published the book "Male Menopause," one of the first U.S. works to raise awareness that, during the midlife period of what he calls "andropause," men's hormones change, .

Scrumpy

I've seen men sweating in the winter..
Have a tissy fit.
Think nobody loves them because they no longer look sexy..
And.. panic when out shopping and the queue is not moving..

Just sayin'

Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

I think women suffer a much bigger hormonal change than men. Once a woman is past menopause there is zero chance of them being a mother again. Men can father children at any age. Of course not all men but certainly some.

This is a tricky subject but I haven't noticed any effects yet.

I'm certainly not moody or grumpy & I have retained my often outrageous sense of humour.

Today I was talking to a contractor who we are thinking of taking on board to do work for the Company & he said that his wife did gravestone cleaning so I asked him if she sent out invoices or obituaries.

This would explain the Victor Meldrew syndrome a lot of men  suffer with as they age

Not sure really. Since I suffer from bouts of depression on an approx 6-7 year cycle, any male menopause in my case may have coincided with one of those periods (no pun intended!)
