Lots of speculation on the internet that we are not getting the correct story about this. Maybe we are maybe we aren't but I must say that there have been many people run over by buses and trams. Over 60 years ago a friend of mine was run over by a Blackpool tram. Of all these accidents this is the first time I have heard of a collision between a bus and a pedestrian resulting in a decapitation.

The same sort of thing happened in Perth about 40 years ago when my dad was a bus driver, a man had fallen down the side of the back wheel somehow and the driver didn't know he was there, and took off from the stop. His head was flattened, I remember dad coming home and telling us about it. The driver was a older guy and he never drove again, not even his car. It's a terrible accident really terrible.

The police revel in covering things up & keeping Joe Public in the dark & then they are stupid enough to moan & threaten legal action when people come up with their own theories.

Flattened I understand. Decapitated I don't. If there is something on a bus strong and sharp enough to take off a head we should be looking at redesigning them. It needs something resembling a blade to take a head off.

One of the questions is why is no bus visible in any of the pictures - just a crime scene tent.

All very odd. May be a simple explanation but sfaik none has been given.

Indeed.  And how do they know it was a bus involved?🤷🏻♂️

A train doing 80 mph can knock a man's head off but not an ordinary bus going at normal bus speeds. Maybe it wasn't a service bus but something else.

As usual, there will be a lot more to this story than we know as yet.  It certainly does sound very odd.

But I don't really blame the cops for not saying much at the mo,  they probably haven't got all the answers themselves yet.   Better to say naught than give out wrong information surely?

The US police seem to release all the available information as soon as an incident occurs, with regular updates.

The UK police released some information about Cox's killer later the same day so they can if they want to.

In any event it appears that it's been confirmed that the man was hit by a bus & his head went under a front wheel arch.

There were two crime scene tents so I imaging one was for his body & one was for his head, but I did think that having an ambulance at the scene was rather unnecessary.

It just shows how unpredictable life can be.

I shall keep very clear of bus wheel arches in future for sure.

It's certainly a puzzle how it happened.

No doubt we'll all be looking at bus wheel arches over the next day or so to figure out how it might have happened.

But, let's not forget that someone died and his family/friends will be hurting.

Luckily none of them are here reading our pontifications.

I can't remember how the man got there. :hmm:
Was he drunk and fell.
Was he taken ill and fell.
Did he slip off the pavement.
