She's a bright girl, her GCSEs were nearly all 9s and she goes to a selective 6th form college in your county.  Her younger brother will also be looking at those subjects, he's in his GCSE year.  He has already talked about apprenticeships, depends on results and what's on offer.
What's her list of preferred unis?

Very sensible.  Maths and sciences are likely to be of great benefit to her.  I wish her well.
Her brother also seems to know what's best for him.

In all seriousness, they could also consider taking their skills and qualifications abroad in a few years, depending on how things continue to develop in this country.

Durham, Cambridge, Bath are the main ones.

They are fortunate their talents lie in those directions, and that they live in an area with nice schools. Mum & dad are clued up too.

Grandson has talked about going to the USA.  I think some sort of engineering may well be his focus.

Aha, the top ones, eh?  I went to Warwick, which also has a bit of a reputation (although it was wasted on me😬😬😬).

I came across this little freebie which she might find useful for STEP exams.

Also, if she gets an interview at Cambridge, they may ask her stuff about current affairs (to see if she's well rounded), so she might want to have a browse at the papers now and again.

Thanks for that.  She's been working on her personal statement, she works, has done some volunteering and D of E.

Excellent.  It all helps paint a picture of not just being a bookworm.  Did she do an EPQ?
