Did anyone hear on the news today,  bloomin'  Royal Mail,  are increasing their first class stamp prices AGAIN!
How many times have they done that already this year?   Is this the third time?
They say its because of  'declining letter volumes.'
Well what do they expect at the cost of stamps!

So what do they do?   Put the price up even more!

From 7th October,  stamps will cost £1.65,  an increase of 30p  -  just in time for  all our Christmas cards.

Here's what they say:

Royal Mail has announced it will hike the price of first-class stamps by 30p due to "very real and urgent" financial challenges.

The increase, which will kick in from 7 October, will see the price of a first-class stamp rise to £1.65, while second-class stamps will remain at 85p.

The company said it was facing pressure from declining letter volumes and rising business costs in maintaining the one-price-goes-anywhere universal service.

well, if they keep putting up the price, what do they expect? Can't remember the last time I used a first class stamp
Thank you for the days, the days you gave me

Who in their right mind actually uses first class stamps when there's barely any difference in terms of delivery time between that and second class?

Alex

I guess it'll be surreptitiously shoving birthday cards through letter boxes from now on !

Exactly,  Michael.

Who ever makes their decisions wants sacking, because they don't seem to have a clue as to why the public don't use them much nowadays.

E-cards it is then, wherever possible.

First class or Second.. They don't arrive on time anyway..
I will not be using them..

I've just sent a condolence card 1st class, but it's a rare occurrence these days.

As has B&M!  But I'd rather visit a nice garden centre, and Port Sunlight sounds lovely!
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖
