No idea.  Think it might be partly down to a view that Jewish folk have such a large control of finances in the USA, which was a supported of Irish independence.

There were strong supporters of German National Socialism in the 1930s, as well as resistance to helping Jews (through offering asylum) pre and post war.

Can't remember many more details from those History lessons in the 1970's.

I don't understand the hatred of Jews in Ireland ( let's not pretend that anti Zionism is anything more that a cover for anti semitism ) there are just over 2000 Jews in Ireland .

Ireland has a track record for hating folk based on religion. I doubt there are many protestants in the south so the Jews provide a substitute maybe.
