What is the problem with your lack of internet connection?
Is it a particular supplier?  If so, I'd advise you to look for an alternative.  I have done that in the past.

Like Mark said, I don't see the point in paying Virgin for the connection when I'm not there all the time. My son sometimes stays there but his Wifi is with the Three Network and can be used anywhere, he just unplugs it from his house and plugs it in at mine.

Of course, you do what you find best for you and I wouldn't advise you otherwise.
In case you didn't see an earlier post of mine, I mistakenly thought that you were having problems with your internet connection.  Sorry.
