Yes a great actor yes he did play a Nazi more often than not he was born in Berlin and his parents were ardent Nazi's , he played a good part in the Wild Geese with Richard Burton,.

If I recall correctly he was the star of the old film " The one that got away" based on a German Pilot who escaped England eventually got back to Germany got back into the war took off and never seen again

Before your time ?

Nope. Looked through his filmography on IMDB and the only one I've seen is A Bridge Too Far and I don't remember much about the film at all. I'm just a sweet young lad you see.

Flying Bomb

His great part was as a model plane designer, in the film,
'Flight of the Phoenix.'
The greatest air crash film ever made.

zoony

It was a great film but I didn't enjoy the later re-make as much as Jimmy Stewart's original.. Hardy Kruger didn't always play Nazis but for some reason always Germans..

Michael Rolls

he played von Werra, a Luftwaffe pilot shot down over England who escaped when transferred to Canada. The only Axis POW to escape custody in the entire war, apparently. I know I saw the film at the time, but don't really remember it,
Mike
