Not a happy bunny today.
I have got a dental appointment at 10.40 because I've been having a nasty tooth ache.
Got a horrible feeling it will mean an extraction, and I'm a baby 'cos I dread that.

Quote from: Dextrous63 on Yesterday at 10:34:51 PMMine is the same Klondy. It even decided recently to start bleeping whenever the speed limit changes, which naturally causes another set of bleeps telling me I'm travelling over that limit.
Yours must pick up the wrong limits sometimes too from signs not applicable to the road you are on. I notice some villages get hold of advisory signs lower than the posted limit and it gets those too. One place on a regular route I use has a limit on a roundabout and it misses the derestricted sign as you leave. Eventually it resets from GPS I think but beeps merrily until that happens

All the sensors make repairs dearer too putting up insurance premiums. It's all required on new cars mirroring EU regulations. A conspiracy theorist might pontificate that they are trying to price the plebs out of owning cars.

Quote from: Raven on Today at 09:50:06 AMI'm not keen on those type of cars either though there's quite a few up here. I just feel it's a lot of unnecessary wear n tear on the Starter, Points and plugs.
I totally agree, Raven.
Yet another man-made useless invention to put the price up.

Be careful folks, because I think I've got a scam message this morning.

It was sent at 1.30 am and pretended to be from Royal Mail.
It said they had tried to deliver a parcel to me twice, and that they had knocked the door, rang the bell, and waited on my pathway, but I didn't open the door.

This must be a lie, because -
a) Royal Mail don't deliver on Sundays, and
b) The dogs would have gone mad if someone did all that. So even if I didn't hear him, I would certainly have heard the dogs kicking off.

The email went on to say I must let them know when I will be in, else they will return it to sender.

I have been ringing the local RM sorting office all morning, but they won't answer their phone!

What would you do?

Raven

I'd drive over to the local sorting office along with the email or text and show the person on the counter. They'd soon know what's what.

This new one beeps and moans at me all the time...
1mph over beep beep
Drive a bit close to the edge because a sodding van driver coming your way is on his phone and wandering about or a bit towards the middle to see if it's clear enough to go past somebody who forgot there are gears higher than 2
I don't know what most of yhem are binging and bonging for but all the sensors for a reason to beep at you make cars a lot more expensive.
The only thing that bleeps , bings and bongs in my motor is me..
I don't need to be told that I am near the kerb or too close to the driver in front.. My eyes tell me that..
I don't need to be told , when reversing , that I am almost there... Because I DON'T do reverse parking..
I go back home..

Ho hum.

Tomorrow is another day...
Chin up... x
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Have to admit that I love the back view camera. Not a euphemism. But it helps reverse parking immensely.

Exactly how I feel too.
With all these silly gadgets nowadays, eventually the kids will not be able to drive without them - like we did.

I did just that, Raven, and so glad I did because it was a scam.

I gave the chap in the sorting office the supposed long parcel number the scammers gave me, and although part of it looked right, the rest of it didn't exist, and was not one of their numbers at all.

So glad I didn't get caught. I loathe these scammers. If only they would put their clever brains to good use they might do some good in the world.
