Quote from: Raven on Today at 11:58:05 AMMups, So sorry to hear Liffy is having another issue with her health, has she been like this all her life or just since she got older?
I've not had problems with my dogs until they got into old age, I suppose I was lucky. Give the wee lass a hug from me.  :hugs:
Hi Raven,  No,  Lif hasn't always had this problem.    It started very mildly in June a couple of years ago,  but soon went away again.
Then last Spring she started itching again,  around June again.   This lead me to think along the lines of a plant or pollen allergy.

Third time was earlier this spring,  and it went away after a week or so,  but now it has returned with a vengeance.   I have never seen her so poorly with it,  she didn't look at all well,  and felt burning hot to touch.
Her eyes were dull and it really scared me.  I was even thinking of the inevitable . . .

I couldn't see my usual vet when we went on Saturday,  but she is back from her holiday now so I will take her back straightaway  if it gets bad again.

At the moment, most of her skin looks more normal again,  just the odd patch of rawness.  Today she wagged her tail at me for the first time since last week.   I took her temperature and it was normal again,  although she is still not quite herself.   She is still not eating normally,  she is eating much slower than she usually does.
I looked up the side effects of the meds,  and it says it often makes them lethargic,  so that could be why she is sleeping so much I suppose.

I will see how she goes over the next couple of days.   I desperately wish I knew what the cause is,  so I could keep her away from it.  All these vet bills are a worry,  but what can you do if your dog is ill.
Gertie seems fine   (touch wood),  so it can't be anything 'catching.'

I gave her your  very gentle hug tonight.   Thanks Raven.  x

Hah,  we used to say that too.

BTW,  they are forecasting showers tomorrow,  and Wednesday,  and heavier rain on Thursday here.
You'd best get those sheets done soon.
