I have just been admitted to hospital and diagnosed with the peekaboo virus.
They are transferring me to ICU.....

How is Liffey today ?

I managed to get an appointment for Liffey this morning.    
The young vet did a flea check first - nothing there.
She thinks it is an allergy of some sort.

I showed her all the places that she had made sore,  especially her tummy,   and the vet was surprised at just had bad it was.    
She has given me some tablets for here,  plus a skin spray I have never seen before.  When you press the nozzle, a foam comes out.    
I have to rub rub this into her skin and watch she doesn't lick it until it is dry.   She said I can also still give her the Piriton,  but I haven't decided about that yet, I'll see how it goes first.

Lif is very quiet today,  and sleeping most of the time,  but there seems a slight improvement,  so that is encouraging at least,  but unless I know what she is allergic to,  I don't know what to keep her away from!
Just parted with another £90-something pounds.

It's difficult isn't it Granny.    I know its meant for the best,  but we probably all know what it's like to have an itch you can't reach to scratch,  so imagine the torture if his feet are burning and itching all night and he can't reach them.  On the other hand,  he might well make them worse if he did!  Difficult isn't it.

When Liffey's feet were like that,  I have got an old cat litter tray which I fill with cool water just a couple fo inches deep,  then I lift her up and stand her in it.  I thought if her feet are burning,  the water might soothe it for a while.  I've also got a small plastic bowl I hold and dunk her feet in that too.
I wondered once, whether it was anything to do with weed killer sprays they use don't the park sometimes,  or even

I suppose if it is an allergy of some kind,  we can only try to help them this time,  but it won't stop it coming back again, will it.  I also wondered if it was grass pollen?


P.S.  I just googled about that, and interestingly, this is what I found.  This could easily explain why its a seasonal thing with Lif.

Klondie,  I see they cancelled the balloon festival this weekend.  Apparently it was too windy they said on the radio.
I don't really get that,  because there has hardly been a breath of wind for weeks, has there.

The wind often causes them problems. It isn't just surface wind it could be wind higher up too.

It could also be a way of chickenng out of course but TBH I doubt it. They are way ahead of the old Montgolfier methods and my betting is that those monster gas burners are very safe because they'd have to be. I haven't checked but I doubt there will be any news reports of fires started by those balloons. Unlike the toy ones with a little package of something flammable under a tissue paper envelope that people sometimes launch at hight.

Mups have they prescribed prednisone yet ? 
This will stop the itching for a while 
Unfortunately its long time side effects are not good .
Some people believe it's a food allergy .
I give mungo liver once a week and lambs hearts if there are any .
I try and give him eat least some good quality food goodness knows what goes into cans and kibble .

The vet did not suggest Prednisone Muddy,  but probably because it is not safe with her Vetoryl  (Cushings meds).
I did look it up, and her Vetoryl stops her producing too much cortisone,  but Prednisone would put the cortisone back again,   so not good for her.

I will pop out and buy her some fresh chicken tomorrow,  and put it in my slow cooker overnight.  She'll like that.
