It's just a fun day really lol, lots of games and competitions and a BBQ the big event is during the winter..... Usually December. That one has the great big Longboat the torchlight parade, the songs and the boat burning ect ect. Like "Up Helly Aa" on Shetland but not on such a grand scale.
Those photos were taken by one of the professional photographers here and we'd asked her to do it for us, I couldn't take photos like that to save myself. So she did a small set up the beach a bit where it was quiet, We were surprised to see she'd added a big Longboat into one of the photos, but it looked good.
