Morning, Well we've got the rain and it's really thundery, mind you the fields need it. Been for my swim ect ect and caught up round the house. As it's so wet out it will be jigsaw and audio book for me after lunch.

Glad it rained last night, although too late for some bits of the garden.

I'm off to lunch and the theatre later with my semi retired daughter.  She stepped down from her management role earlier this year and went back to being a nurse two days a week.

Is 'mantle'  the opposite to 'dismantle'? 
I am going to try to dismantle an old zip up polythene grow house today, and 'mantle'  a new one.

Morning all, it's sunny and very pleasant here, there is some algae in the pond, I might give Donald a ring and get some advice. I think I might bung another pump and some air stones in

How about a UV filter to kill the algae? That can't kill the fish. I don't know how effective they are as I've never fancied the problems a pool presents but I do know it was what one neighbour had.

I also remember the cursing I heard coming from another neighbour years back. Turns out he'd use the wrong concentration of a chemical fix and had killed off a lot of expensive koi.

Our huge filter has UV, it shifts up to 60000l per hour, what we have is blanket weed..the stringy algae. , just on some of the  edges of the pond . I am wary of using chemicals at this stage of my koi ignorance so I will continue to hand weed and keep aerating
