Alex

Me too Mups, how is Gertie tonight ?

Mups

She seems fairly well,  been playing with her toys today and she ate all her brekkie and her tea tonight too.    She's happier now its cooled down a bit too,  she was struggling with all that heat.
Thanks very much for asking, Alex.

Up really early today just can't sleep, heading off to the pool. No plans for the day, will see what the weather's doing. Grass is looking lovely and green again with all that wet stuff landing on it.

Mups - glad to hear Gertie is still improving.  Playing with toys is always a good sign.  Nemo has had his breakfast, a few treats, and a good wash - is now having a fit of the 'zoomies' in the hall, with a pink dinosaur in his mouth!

Raven - we have not had any wet stuff - yet - grass here is a bit brown and crispy.

Looking at the forecast - we should have rain and thunderstorms all afternoon.  I had better wake up the brain and busy myself with the Forensics before that happens - and make sure there is room behind the sofa for me and the Cat when it does!

We've not had as much rain as was forecast, this afternoon might be wet though.  The garden needs it.

Exercise class in the pool later, then coffee with the ladies.

Guaranteed here

That said it looks bright at the moment despite the forecast.

Michael Rolls

apparently we had thunder and lighting yesterday afternoon but I was having a doze and missed it!
Thank you for the days, the days you gave me

Morning all.   Grey clouds and a chilly breeze here,  I've actually had to put a cardigan on because my arms were cold.

Tell me something . . .  why does the phone always ring when we are in the shower, or go to the loo?   Have some people got a device that tells them the worst time to ring someone?

Or still in bed at 8.15 am with no hearing aids anywhere near?

I set out for the clay ground. It started bucketing down so I drove back home. It stopped raining just as I parked up. Not sure what sort of luck that is.

Yes.

The rains have arrived - in torrents!  So far - no thunder.  Looking at the lightning map, the storms are heading  North/North East, hugging the coast from Hull up to Bridlington and thence out to sea.  Maybe we will be lucky and miss them.

I stayed dry this afternoon. I did cheat and bussed into town which is well less than a mile from the hospital. I arrived a lot early but didn't wait long. Just a couple of quick tests and out probably before my appointment time. I was going to walk home but it started spitting so I chickened out and walked into town and got the bus home.

One surprise was seeing the old M&S and BHS section of one of the main shopping streets...

On reflection I did hear they were to be demolished but forget what they said was going to be put in their place. Probably nothing but hoardings if it turns out anything like the old bus station site or the old gas works sites both of which have remained empty for as long as I remember. The old Debenhams building got turned into student flats quite quickly but I think those numbers have reduced this year. There are unoccupied student HMOs near me now.

Google threw up..

The demolition, to be carried out by specialist contractor Colemans, marks the beginning of an exciting transformation for Northampton's town centre. The redevelopment scheme, which is being funded through the Government's Town Fund, will breathe new life into the area, with plans for more than 200 high-quality build-to-rent homes above modern retail and leisure spaces at ground level.

Probably asylum seekers and vape shops then.

The old gas offices where I worked are now an Amazon depot.  One of my colleagues got a transfer from the Northampton branch when her husband got a job up here.  British Gas East Midlands as it was before privatisation nearly forty years ago!
