Thank you, Raven. I had only ever heard of and visited Stonehenge
almost 50 years ago. I remember it was so  hot I was glad to seek the
shadow of each stone. One could stand close to them then. A German
lady and I shared the shadow of one stone.

Quote from: Raven on Yesterday at 11:23:13 AMI love The Ring of Brodgar, it's supposed to be even older than Stonehenge. I even met and shared a mug of Coffee with Neil Oliver there a few years back, he's so interesting to talk to.

The stone circle originally comprised up to 60 standing stones, of which 27 remain today. The circle measures approximately 104 metres in diameter, making it the third-largest stone circle in the British Isles. The tallest stones reach over four metres, and the circle is surrounded by a rock-cut ditch up to 3 metres deep and 9 metres wide, carved from solid sandstone. Unlike many henges, there is no evidence of an encircling bank, but the site is classified as a Class II henge with two opposing entrances.

This is very impressive !

Ps you don't watch Outlander do you ? 😀

Raven

No, no Outlander for me. We don't have any of those streaming services just Freeview

Bit late clocking in today.  My back was really bad first thing.

We've got rain and thunder forecast for this afternoon,  but I'll wait and see.

Just going to pop up the Co-op,  might even see Scrumpy in there?

Scattered showers and windy here. Not inclined to risk a walk I've been caught a couple of times by rain recently. Pretty miserable for mid May but at least it looks like it's getting a bit warmer now we've swapped the cold north winds for wet sou' westers. On the bright side it does give me something to moan about.

Showers and chilly here in Northumberland, 13 °C, it's been like
this for several days now. The sun comes through from time to time.

Blast just when my luck was in too. I decided to chance a walk and went to town. My intent was to get a bus back if it rained which I'd did start to do. I'd just missed a bus so nipped into the shopping arcade. Lots of shops shut. When I came out to get the bus the sun was peeping out so I walked home instead of taking the bus.

Glad I'm not out now. It's tipping down.

Afternoon all, it's been showers her today, not very nice tbh.  I've been to see my oldest friend today, she has cancer and is receiving Immunotherapy treatment.  She tells me instead of sitting on a drip for an hour or so at Clatterbridge, she now has a quick injection and it only takes 10 minutes, so a plus for her and others.

I don't do the Euro lottery, even less chance of winning than there is with the UK one !
