Morning all.   Still a chilly breeze blowing outside,  but might try to get the grass cut,  it depends on my poorly shoulder.

My Ocado order has just come - half an hour early!  So best get unpacking that before I do anything else.

Might do a bit of weeding.. Bit dull here..
My daughter Marnie suggested a film for me to watch..

Really dull here and windy too, but it's dry so I've got sheets on the line.   That film looks really good Scrumps, I might join you  !

It turned out nice again.. Warm in the garden..
I did a fair bit of weeding..
Watched the film..

A line full of bedding dry, more plants in pots, popped to the chemist, coffee and a Danish and feet up and watched Countdown. Spicy chicken, with Mediterranean veg and rice for tea courtesy of OH.

Ordered some timber. Going to give plug in solar a go so need to build a pagoda to put the panels on.

Lovely morning here...
Good luck with the new build Klondike...

It won't be pretty. Not as cheap as I'd hoped either. Timber went up quite a while ago and solar panels have shot up since I last looked - every many man and his dog must be trying solar out to offset the huge increases coming thanks to Trump's little adventure trying out his toys.

I had to post this, I know where she is coming from

Right... I need to know I'm not on my own here before I completely lose the plot...

WHAT. IS. GOING. ON. WITH. THESE. BINS??? 😤

Because I swear to God, life did not used to be this complicated.

Back in the day?
One bin.
You put your rubbish in it.
It got collected.
End of story.
No counselling required.

Now I feel like I need a degree in waste management just to throw away a yoghurt pot.

I've got more bins outside my house than I've got bloody plants.
Recycling.
Cardboard.
Garden waste.
And now... brace yourselves...

A FOOD WASTE BIN.

But wait... it gets better...

It's not just a bin, is it?
Oh no.
It's a mother bin... with a baby bin inside it.

WHO signed that off???

So now I'm getting this tiny little kitchen caddy that fills up every 5 minutes (because shock horror, I actually eat food), and I'm expected to trot outside like some sort of bin butler emptying it into its "mother" like I'm part of some weird rubbish-based family dynamic.

And I'm stood there thinking...

WHAT THE HELL IS EVEN LEFT FOR MY NORMAL BIN NOW???

Food's gone.
Cardboard's gone.
Recycling's gone.
Garden waste is gone.

What am I putting in it???
VIBES???
EMOTIONAL DAMAGE???
THE REMAINS OF MY SANITY???

And can we talk about the fact that I am now apparently running a free storage facility for the council...

On MY property.

I could've had flowers.
A nice little seating area.
Some peace.

Instead I've got what looks like a skip yard auditioning for Britain's Got Talent outside my front door.

At this point I'm expecting them to start charging ME for the privilege of housing their plastic army.

And don't even get me started on how flimsy they are...

One gust of wind in Stoke and they're halfway to bloody Manchester 🤦🏻♀️

Honestly, someone's going to get taken out by a rogue food caddy on a morning dog walk and that'll be the headline:

"Local woman defeated by bin during light breeze."

I'm telling you now...

I am DONE.

I am nearly 50 (not quite, but almost) menopausal, operating on dangerously low levels of patience and oestrogen, and fed up of dealing with total nonsense.

I have survived far worse in life than this...but THIS might actually be the thing that pushes me over the edge.

Because you can test me in many ways...

...but if that food bin turns up at my house...

I will be returning it with the force and accuracy of a menopausal sniper 🔫😂

No warning. No negotiation. Just vibes and violence.

Anyone else feeling this rage or am I about to go to war with the council on my own ?..

That is so bloody brilliant! 🤣🤣

   I know just what she means.

I don't use the food waste bin. They wanted some biodegradable bags used that cost a fortune so that was that for me. The bags may have got cheaper or they may have removed that requirement I really don't know as I've never taken the trouble to find out. The hospital and British Rail will just have to get their pie and sausage ingredients elsewhere because any scraps I have just go in general waste. I no longer even have those bins - next door used to do it and the bin men must have put theirs in the wagon complete as it just vanished so I gave them mine.
