Morning all.   Sunny and bright, but cool wind blowing.

I've got to have another ECG this morning,   but only at the GP's not hospital again, thank goodness.       Once that's out the way, I have to day to myself.

Alex

Morning all, sunny here today but we're in for strong winds and heavy rain tomorrow - so Alexa tells me
Lovely photos Raven  :upvote:
I had an echo cardiogram at the hossie yesterday, I was told one of my heart vales is 'calcified' so I'm wondering what the next step will be, the infamous statins perhaps ? hope it's not an op.   Old age eh, oh what joy !
I'm going to see a second hand sofa tomorrow.  My thinking is, buying a new one is a big expense and it would probably outlive me.   I've never bought anything like this before and it feels a bit odd going into a stranger's home and sitting on their couch    I'll let you know how I get on.

Mups

Hah,  I like the picture, Raven.    I  quite like Sheep,  and used to have a few Jacobs many years ago.

Alex,  that must be a worry about the heart valve,  but try to look on the bright side.  It's better they  found it,  than not.    I hope it can be sorted quite easily.

Raven

Alex I'm sorry to about your heart valve, it sounds similar to what happened to me. You will probably have to have the same operation I had last November, it's terrifying as your mind plays all sorts of tricks on you, I was scared out of my wits if you remember. But, it was all in my mind....Really. The operation was under an hour and I never felt a thing and no after pain. I was awake throughout it all and talking to the nurses.

Raven,  I have just seen in todays paper about a 'Spaceport'  in the Shetlands.   Did you know about this?

It said locals will be prioritised for tickets to watch launchings,  and the first test launch is going to be soon, probably this summer.

It says -  " A number of companies plan to use the SaxaVord Spaceport as a launch site for commercial  rockets."

Something the locals are longing for, I'll bet!

Raven

Yes Mups I've known about it from the start back in 2024. Never paid it much heed, not my thing. I won't be rushing to get a ticket.
The only time we go over to Shetland is for the Up Helly Aa Viking Festival, though I've not been well enough the past couple of years.
The launch pad is up on the most northly point of the Islands, Lamba Ness, Unst..

Thanks Raven, I do remember how scared you  were.  I was hoping maybe they'd just put me on statins to halt any further calcification or thinners ?  tbh I know nothing about it, but hope my GP calls me in sooner rather than later.

I hope they do too. Got to be a worry. I must admit it's not an area I know anything about. I thought that the chloesterol statins help reduce was more an artery clogging thing but could easily be wrong.
