I did the most stupid thing today.
I rushed about to get to the NHS Physio appointment on time,  but when I arrived and went to book in, the lady on the desk couldn't find my name in her book.

We have two small local 'hospitals'  in the surrounding towns,  and I had obviously not read their reminder text properly,  and turned up at the wrong hospital,  they were waiting for me at the other one!
I couldn't possibly get to the other one in time then,  so they had to cancel it and remake it for later this month.   What  a twit.

Hoping to get the blood results and ECG results tomorrow,  from when I got carted off to hospital last week.  Blinkin'  falling apart lately, I am.

Hope the results confirm their diagnosis and it has cleared up. I was diagnosed as having diverticulosis after an MRI (it's common in the west apparently because of our diet which lacks fibre) but I never knew I had it and it has never caused me a problem. The MRI earned me the joy of a colonoscopy which then ended up as two and that confirmed the diverticulosis. The MRI was a prostate check that threw up an "anomaly with my gut".

My surgery has two outlets and I've been to the wrong one once because they failed to tell me when I booked it was at the other one. The reminder was correct but of course I only got as far as the date and didn't read it all. I always make doubly sure now. They even told me wrong once (or at least I'm sure they did) when I booked so I called to find out when the reminder arrived.

Oddly enough I have a booking at the "other one" tomorrow and that is for a physio check - I think I have a recurrence of frozen shoulder which presented itself as an elbow problem last time because of referred pain. This time it is random pains in that arm and most oddly my index finger which gets electric shock like pains based more on stretching arm than anything the finger does.

The reason you think you are falling to bits is because at our age we usually are - like old cars forever needing repairs.

Klondy,  the reason I am seeing Physio is because I've got a painful shoulder and arm too,  but in my case they are not calling it 'frozen shoulder'  they call it 'Rotator cuff.'   Apparently it is quite common in us oldies.
It inhibits certain arm movements and aches all the time. Sometimes I get pins and needles in my hand too.     Its a bugger at night and keeps waking me up if I lay on that side.
The fella at the Gym was good,  and used an electric massager thing,  but I can't keep paying for private treatments,   especially with the upcoming computer costs too.

Best of luck with your appointment tomorrow.  :upvote:

It's possible that's what I have. I just went with frozen shoulder because it seems to be related to shoulder position and was what the doctor at the time called it. You mentioned rotator cuff and I though that was wrist - I'll have to look it up.

Seems to me they are both shoulder from the descriptions but I have no limitation on arm movement just some pain when I move it in some positions. I'll just hope the physio can call it and tell me what to do to sort it out. I had painkillers before but none of them worked and I'm not keen on using them anyway.

Yes,  look it up.   It affects shoulder and arm  -  and is a flamin'  nuisance.
Do you you struggle to get your bra on and off?

I know when I had the frozen shoulder I had trouble getting back to sleep after a night visit to the loo. They tried several different painkillers but none worked so I gave up on them. They said the problem was where a bunch of nerves go through the shoulder joint and a design flaw means there is little room to spare and sometimes nerves can be trapped causing pain not necessarily associated with the shoulder - I had gone to the doctors as I thought I had an elbow injury and was told that was referred pain and the elbow was fine.

That's what made me think this is a repeat. Not elbow but random pains in the upper arm muscles which at first I though might be an injury from the gym. There was a finger twinge too and over time the muscle pains have got less frequent while the index finger has got worse. I haven't been to the gym now since before Christmas - I normally walk there as the parking is poor and what with the poor weather and an annoying Achilles tendon problem which has now pretty much cleared up and the muscle pains it didn't seem a good idea.

Obviously I've put some of the weight I lost back on which is annoying
Even more annoying is I can't find the manufacturers warranty details to complain about the  shoulder design flaw. It seems my parents neglected to give it to me. Probably expired anyway.

Haven't done anything today but tomorrow I'm meeting a friend for coffee at 10.15, just a Chatwins job, then I'm picking another friend up at noon to take her shopping here  https://www.homesense.com/home

Ooh Chatwins, nice cakes!  I used to go to the one in Alsager when my son lived nearby.  I've been to the local garden centre for coffee with a friend this morning. It's a beautiful day, plan to get into the garden later.

I've never heard of Homesense.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

I have had two HUGE big furry bees fly in my kitchen this morning.   I had left the door ajar for the dogs to go in and out,  but these characters arrived instead.  They were whoppers.

It will be the dreaded Wasps next,  and I hate those mean critters.

Soon be time to alter our clocks again, too.

There are some monster bumble bees about now we've had some sun. I saw one looking rather dozy in the grass yesterday while I was out.
